Nice Biscuits has recently teamed up with Euro RSCG & RSA to create a major new TV campaign for Comet.
The ads. directed by Johnny Hardstaff feature the new brand endline “Come and Play” and show Comet staff playfully interacting in-store, using their expert knowledge to create imaginative and impressive electrical product installations.
Each ad. ends with a “reveal” where their electrical creation is demonstrated.
The ads. star 24 Comet staff members from across the country who won parts after an audition process.
In all the spots Johnny has managed to capture some fantastic moments and the planning that went into the reveals really proved its worth. With the ‘Blender’ film in particular, the execution on the day came out a little too perfect and actually required some flame work to introduce a few natural looking flaws. Filmed using two Genesis cameras at Comet’s testing lab, other flame work involved set extension work and TV & laptop screen replacements.
Russ Shaw, co-owner of Nice Biscuits says, “Having produced the initial six base commercials through Euros, we’re delighted now to be working directly with Comet’s marketing department in creating the ongoing campaign versions. To this end, we have now broadened our service offering and have employed the specialist skills of two new members of staff, to not only oversee the production, distribution of the final media masters, but to also undertake the associated Clearcast clearance, copy distributions and rotations”.
